Cie Alice in W.

L'autre côté du miroir

A Swiss association founded by Damien Gauthier, bridging the performing arts with professional communication and innovation consulting.

Different disciplines, same philosophy

From stage to boardroom, Cie Alice in W. explores how we perceive, communicate, and create together. What began as a theatre company questioning reality through the lens of Lewis Carroll has grown into a practice spanning public speaking, innovation facilitation, and the performing arts.

Damien Gauthier

Mathematician by training (PhD, EPFL), actor by vocation, consultant by experience. Damien founded Cie Alice in W. as a theatre company in 2011, driven by a fascination with the gap between reality and perception — a thread that runs through everything he does.

That same curiosity led him to build two professional practices: Impactful Speaking, where he coaches experts and leaders to communicate with the clarity and presence their ideas deserve; and New Ways of Working, where he facilitates innovation workshops, design sprints, and user research for organizations ready to think differently.

Like Lewis Carroll, Damien is a mathematician who sees the world through a lens of logic and wonder. Like Alice, he believes that questioning what seems obvious is the first step to discovering what's real.

Curator & speaker coach, TEDxLausanne (since 2014) · UX trainer, Powercoders · Pitching coach, GENILEM startups · Professional actor (École du Théâtre des Teintureries, 2009)

The roots

Rooted in theatre and living arts

Alice in W. was founded in 2011 in Lausanne as a theatre company

The name references Lewis Carroll, not as a fairy tales, but as a questioning of conventions, logic, and common sense. Alice explores with curiosity, and in doing so discovers other ways to apprehend reality.

Cie Alice in W. — Theatre Company

L'autre côté du miroir

The company aims to explore the contrast between the reality of the world and our perception of it. Similar to quantum physics, Alice in W.'s theatre is aware of being observed and reacts to it.

Two professional productions exploring the writings of Jon Fosse and Martin Crimp — themes of absence, media violence, and the limits of human perception.
